Shahraiz Tabassam

I’m a multi-disciplinary creative hailing from Lahore, Pakistan with a strong background in software and tech. I strive to grow each day and apply what I learn by creating products, services and communities that help create more good in the world. Over the past ten years, I’ve worked with clients both big and small to create solutions that help do just that. Currently, I’m serving as the Director Digital for an American non-profit.

Background

I dropped out of my Computer Systems Engineering program to take charge of how and what I learn. Here are some disciplines I’ve worked in over the years:

  • UI/UX Design
  • Logo design & branding
  • Database Design
  • Content creation
  • Android development
  • Website development (WordPress)
  • Graphics & communications design
  • Mobile apps & Web interface design
  • Content-driven growth strategies
  • Writing & copywriting
  • Social Media Marketing
  • Product Ideation & Innovation
  • Interaction Design & Protoyping
  • Photography & videography

The things I’ve worked with help me develop a wholistic and systems-level understanding of any product, service or system I work with and enable me to look at things differently. I use that unique perspective coupled with empathy and a human-centric, design-thinking based approach to problem solving. This results in solutions that don’t just check the box, but are intuitive, performant and can scale to meet future demands.

I’m passionate about my work and enjoy making ideas come to life. Most recently, I helped build the official app of one of the region’s first, indoor-location based interactive Museums.

Design philosophy

I believe that if used correctly, less is more; that context is key and that iterative refinement processes guided by research can help elevate experiences. I also believe that products and services should be designed in a way that puts users and their needs first, considers human limitations and takes accessibility into account.

We’re only here on earth for a number of days and I prefer spending them working on innovative projects with people that are respectful, inclusive and have a strong focus on ethics and the greater good of humanity.
